Join us as we research and play together to learn more about the Disability
Community and important ways that we can work together to make the world and workplaces more
inclusive!
A HELM Life emcee and team of facilitators welcome participants to the Zoom call. After a brief intro to set the stage, we get everyone excited for the experience ahead.
Teams head to breakout rooms of 6-10 people to play through the interactive game. Each group is supported by their HELM Life Host as they research, solve puzzles, and discuss topics together.
Towards the end of the hour, everyone heads back to the main room for a fun recap of what we learned, final thoughts, and goodbyes until next time!
Join us for 3 weeks of activities as we learn from members of the Disability
Community about the challenges and barriers they experience, the tools they use in their every day lives
and the steps that we can take to support them in the work place and in our communities!
Join us for 10 minutes of learning as we explore neurodiversity in the workplace. From reevaluating hiring practices to offering flexible schedules and remote options, discover how creating a friendlier environment for neurodiverse employees benefits everyone and sparks innovation.
For people who are blind or have low vision, websites aren't seen - they're heard. Screen readers translate digital spaces into spoken words and audio cues, opening doors to information, work, and connection. In this challenge, we'll step into that experience to understand how screen readers navigate the web and uncover opportunities to make sites and products more accessible for all.
Explore practical ways to make websites, digital content and virtual meetings more accessible for everyone. Learn how thoughtful choices like alt text, captions, accessible design and inclusive meeting practices can remove barriers and create digital experiences that are easier for everyone to navigate, understand and use.
Join us as a member of the Deaf Community shares insights and lessons about their story, and how we can do our part to make the world more accessible for all.
Learn with us as we hear this personal story about navigating the world as someone who is blind, the tools and supports that he uses in his daily life and some lessons for making the world more inclusive.
Join us to explore the history and impact of disability inclusion in the workplace, from the disability rights movement to the barriers employees still face today. Learn how accessibility, Universal Design and a better understanding of apparent and non-apparent disabilities can help create workplaces where more people can contribute and thrive.

We are excited to welcome Becky Curran Kekula in a talk titled "Building A More Inclusive Work Environment." Becky is a motivational speaker and advocate for inclusion everywhere - she has worked at Creative Artists Agency, CBS Television Studios and SAG-AFTRA, founded DisABILITY In Media, serves as Chair of Little People of America and sits on the Board of Advisors for the National Center on Disability and Journalism at Arizona State University. Her talk helps teams practice self-awareness and acceptance in the workplace, and shows hiring managers how unconscious bias can affect the hiring process.
Join us for a conversation with McGill Gnitzinger, a 51-year-old blind man whose journey has been defined by creativity and adaptability. In this fireside chat, McGill shares how he navigates the world after losing his sight, the role technology plays in helping him live independently, and the systems he has developed to adapt to everyday challenges. He'll also speak candidly about the ways the world still isn't designed with accessibility in mind. The session closes with an interactive Q&A.
